Quest for the Question – Concluded!
December 6, 2008

An update.  I finally have in my possession both Captain Atom and The Question from the JLU line.  While Captain Atom suffers from some of the same afflictions as many other JLU figures — feet bent at odd angles, one leg shorter than the other — the Question is just fine.  And I am glad to finally have them both in my collection.

and these as well.

(Having some issues with the camera, including setting the date wrong – I took these on 12/05, not 05/12.)

What’s next?

To get BLUE BEETLE into the line of course!

Blue Beetle for 2009!

Erik "Superfriend" Skov
"Gathered together from the four corners of the universe." Oh, wait, that's the show, not me. Erik "SuperFriend" Skov never actually got to appear on the show, although he did watch it every week. Erik spent 6 years working for Hasbro in Pawtucket, RI before leaving for a job that paid more (Why else would a collector leave the company that was making Star Wars, Transformers, and while I was there Batman). I used to post all over the net. These days I tend to hang my hat at AFI.

Congrats, SF! The Question is a sweet looking figure. I like this version better than the two Infinite Heroes ones. It just looks sleeker.

  • Jim Abell says:

Glad you’ve finally got them, Erik! Congratulations!

I’m all for Blue Beetle in the JLU line for 2009!

You should have let some of the forum members know you were looking for those figures. I’ve been seeing those 3-packs for about a month or two at my local Targets and I’m sure other members have too.

  • J1h15233 says:

This is just a really cool story. Thanks for your persistence in requesting these two characters. They’re both great figures!

  • Anubis8 says:

Yeah I have been seeing plenty of these around my area & would have been glad to snag one for you.

I’ll gladly support your Blue Beetle request if I can get your support for a Mr. Terrific & 10″ Atom Smasher!

  • Erik superfriend says:

To those who are offering that they could get them, my thanks. In general, it seems to take a month or so after stuff shows up elsewhere for it to make it to my area (RI). So instead of asking when things first show up, I just wait.

Maybe you’re camera date is set to foreign, where they list the day before the month? Regardelss these figures rock!

All I have to say is that I can’t belive that picture of Blue Beetle on the comic cover got approved amd published! What’s up with his torso? Ouch!

  • Glenn Moss Glenn says:

I agree 100% We need the Blue Beetle. Who is Booster going to hang out with if he doesn’t get made?

  • Penny Anderson says:

I have some action figures from the playmate toys line. It also says the mirage studios. They are a hog and a rhino about 6-8 inches tall, made from a hard plastic. How can I find out how much they are worth and where can I buy more? Also I collect the 911 action figures. You know like the fireman and policeman etc. I’m looking to buy some more. Can you help me out. Thanks, Penny Anderson
