Marvel
Legends 11
Scarlet Witch gallery
This is not so much a review, but just a quick
gallery of the Marvel Legends series 11 Scarlet Witch figure. I
didn't even bother to control lighting so do excuse the
inconsistencies.
Apparently this figure, originally scheduled
for mass release in ML 11, is now defunct. At first she was
subject to a slight delay due to some retooling issues. Now, as
far as I can gather, the factory Toybiz used to manufacture her
has gone kaput, so whatever quantity that has made it out so far
is all that's being made.
Here in Singapore, we got Scarley with the regular
assortment of series 11 (sold in sets only, and currently out of
stock, so don't bug me for one!). We thought she'd be like
Mystique and every other one-per-case figure in Marvel Legends,
but due to the unforeseen circumstances, it looks like we've got
something pretty exclusive.
No news on how many of these were produced, but
Toybiz's product manager Jesse Falcon has reassured fans that
Wanda WILL return to the Marvel Legends series of toys, some time
in the future. Hopefully with a better sculpt..
Personally, I think that's a good move, because
this figure isn't pretty. In a nutshell, it doesn't have very good
articulation, the head is oversized (and looks like "Oh. My. God"
Janice from FRIENDS), and the body looks more like a skinny guy
with water-balloon boobs than a sexy superheroine.
So here's a quick look at what you've missed
(it's not much!).

Close up of her face. Note the spotty paint
application. It's common to all the Scarlet witches I've seen.
Now the nose-rub, that's just on mine. And a few others. Argh, I
did say that this figure has QC problems.

Her hips go clickity clack like most of the
other recent Marvel Legend figures. So you don't really have
much free range of motion. It's one position or the next.
She also has no mid-thigh swivel joints, so she can't sit down
right. In my opinion it's worse than the classic but dreaded
V-cut.
I do like the new under-boob cut, which slides
from side to side.
Some pics of Scarlet with the movie Invisible Woman. They both
seem to share a similar body design, but the results are worlds
apart. The IW is far more streamlined, with shapely curves and
useful articulation. She can sit! The quality of the plastic
also feels better.
The only IW I have handy is an all-clear one that I've
coloured for customizing purposes. So sue me. (badabump!).
Note the differences between the bootylicious Alba butt and the
flat as a deck Wanda man-butt.

Wanda's ride. It's nicely detailed, but is as uninteresting as
they come.
