Last night at work I was going on about the new DCUC figures shown at Comic Con yesterday and the subject turned to Blackest Night and the various color Corps and the emotions that power the respective rings. I went back to work and as I was fiddling with a brake cable I really started to wonder about something… Now, I admit I don’t really follow comics any more (burned myself out with a $70 a week habit years ago) I just pick up what I can in our forums and when I stumble across a story on the web so this may have been covered in the books and I just missed hearing about it somewhere along the way… What I’m wondering and have to ask (and please forgive my super-fast, super-sloppy photo manipulation) is "Why weren’t these three recruited for the Sinestro Corps?…"
(If anyone wants to fix a better image for the blog I’ll be happy to upload it and give you credit!)

Scarecrow was offered a ring but Hal and John intervened and condemned the ring before he was able to claim it and escape Arkham.
Harley is a bit more of a clown menace then she is frightening and hew use in the new GOtham CIty Sirens book with Catwoman and Ivy so I would think that would keep her off the table.
I know the Joker subject has been broached (not in a book I don’t think but in interviews at least) and he is “off the table” until the Batman storyline resolves.
Where/when did Hal intervene with Scarecrow? I remember seeing Batman’s rejected ring go to Crane, but never did see what happened after that. Was it in a Bat-book? (I don’t get those.)
If anything, I think Harley would have gotten a Sapphire ring, being rejected by Mistah J and all.
I think Joker would have laughed it off if he had gotten one.
The ring came to Crane in Green Lantern 27.
Matt: yes, I said I saw that happen, but what happened with Crane and the ring AFTER that?
WHEN did Hal/John intervene like Ben said?
That would have been awesome to see but it’s so hard for me to picture the Joker with a ring. I think he’d be just as likely to turn around and stab me with it haha. Now Bane or the Riddler I could see having a ring.
Give te Joker a yellow ring, and he’d most likely take his unique brand of humor straight to Sinestro. I bet they’d try to kill him or take back his ring.
Harley does not inspire fear, so she could never earn a yellow ring.

the scarecrow got a ring but got stopped even though he would be perfect for the corps given he is the master of fear. Harley quin is more comedy relief so no yellow ring. joker some vilian in another story stated that no one wants to work with the joker because he is too nuts plus the bat office no doubt had him off limits to use else where as always
Thanks for the info, guys. I didn’t *really* think Harley could earn a ring, just thought it would be neat to see her costume in black and yellow so I included her because of that. 😉
Speaking of the Sinestro Corps, can anyone tell me why Cyborg Superman isn’t yellow but red and black?
He was wearing that costume before getting the ring. I guess they decided to just add the logo since they had only just given him a new look and probably saw no need to change it again.
Thanks!
