So, What Did You Get for Christmas / Hanukkah / Festivus, etc?
December 26, 2010

I never got around to blogging about all the cool Super-Hero stuff I got last year for XMas, so while I’m getting snowed in by the Blizzard of 2010, I thought I’d take a moment and quickly do up this year.

Last year recap: JLU figures, HeroClix Thor Chariot, several hero T-shirts, Superman PJ’s, and Brave and Bold figures which launched me full into collecting that line which I had only been picking at up until that point.

This year

1) DC Direct Red Tornado from the Alex Ross Justice League line.

2) DC Direct Donna Troy – this hero needs a name – from the Infinite Crisis line.

+

3) DC Comics Men’s Sleep Pants.  These have character logos on them.  Superman, Batman, Flash and Green Lantern chest symbols plus logos from the comics of Superman, Batman, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Hawkman, Green Arrow, Martian Manhunter and Red Tornado.  They also have sound effects: Boom, Kaboom!, Woohm!  These came from Walmart.  Chip, you might want a pair of these, the logos also include Justice League of America and Super Powers.

4) Wolverine T-shirt. This is cute beyond words.

I’ll try to get back and add pictures later (pictures added). In the mean time, I hope Santa and your family and friends gave you lots of heroic stuff this holiday season.  If you’d like, share what you got below.

Merry Christmas

and thanks for spending some of it with us at AFi.

"Gathered together from the four corners of the universe." Oh, wait, that's the show, not me. Erik "SuperFriend" Skov never actually got to appear on the show, although he did watch it every week. Erik spent 6 years working for Hasbro in Pawtucket, RI before leaving for a job that paid more (Why else would a collector leave the company that was making Star Wars, Transformers, and while I was there Batman). I used to post all over the net. These days I tend to hang my hat at AFI.

I got massive amounts of debt from the unbelievable pile o’ loot I ended up getting for my son. (It was worth it though. Any time a kid asks for a break from unwrapping because there is too much, you know you did it up in style.)

For myself, I ended up with the new 75 year history of DC Comics book by Taschen. It is truly, truly amazing and I can’t even begin to describe how much I am loving the book (and I’m only 10 pages in and still in awe of everything they have done with it.) and re-arranging every book shelf I own to make a place of prominence for this massive tome.

    • Erik superfriend says:

Hah. Love the debt comment. My kids are past that point in general. I did buy one of them a huge Nerf gun for playing Humans vs Zombies (apparently Nerf darts have the inherent ability to stun people pretending to be zombies long enough for the humans to get away).

  • Acer says:

    For Channukah:
A few gift cards and all that jazz, Icons: the DC and Wildstorm Art of Jim Lee (which I think should’ve also included some of his Marvel art), a box of Baconpop Popcorn, and a “Fall Quarter Finals Survival Kit”.

  • Pablo says:

    I got
Skeletor and He-man from MOTU CLassics
    a Buzz Lightyear figure
and a couple of Marvel comics t-shirts!

  • George says:

Where did you get that Wolverine shirt? That’s pretty cool. For me, I was pleasantly surprised to receive the Secret Origin: The Story of DC Comics DVD & Superman: Earth One hardcover.

  • erik says:

    I got:

    DCUC: Alan Scott
    DCUC: Zatanna
Iron Man 2 figures: Movie War Machine, Modern Armor, Silver Centurion
    100 bucks worth of comics
    The DC Vault

oh and Donna Troy does have a codename, its Troia.
