Super Powers Highlight – Colleccion Super Amigos
July 6, 2009

I was goofing around with the light box today and taking some pictures for the website when I decided to start taking good, quality images of everything I have.  So, I figured people might enjoy seeing some of the results.  While I don’t have enough information to do a formal blog on the Super Amigos line, I’ll just let the pictures do the talking for now.  Luthor and Darkseid are en route as I type this, but I’m sure Alex won’t mind me using his pictures of them until I replace them with my own.  Enjoy!

That’s the craziest Cyborg I’ve seen yet!

I’ve seen one with just the arms, chest, & head painted (I think this is the most common), just the head/chest painted, and no paint at all, just fully silver. But I’ve never seen the chest only.

Odd that none of the other figures seems to have such a crazy variation in production. They again, that’s the only vac-metalized one, so maybe that stage after the VM process was dicey.

Awesome stuff Chip! After SDCC we can start poking at Jason to updated the SP archive again. :)

Why does this tempt me to start picking up more foreign releases?

    Damn you Chip!

Ahhh…two of my favorite people are the first to respond. Thanks for the kudos. Dan, these pics are going to be part of the archive. I told Jason many months ago he’s welcome to good shots of whatever I have. Between you, me, Joe G. and others I’m sure we can make it the best site out there. I’m also thinking this’ll be a week-long impromptu event as I photograph more items. :-)

Oh and guys, if it weren’t for AFI I would never have rediscovered my love for these toys and restarted my collection, so thank YOU. I really appreciate the support and virtual place to hang my hat as part of the blog.

    Peace,

    Chip

    “Fletcha Verde”
    “el Pinguino”
    I love it!
Thanks for all these looks which always lead me down memory lane. I never saw that Bat-Copter, but bought its all black variant which came out from the Batman movie line a few years later.

Man, some of those are in amazing shape. I think my favorite (aside from The Riddler, of course) is probably The Flash. Someday I’ll have one of him, along with Flecha Verde and El Pinguino. And the illusive Acertijo, of course. Less than 12 hours to go on that auction…it’s killing me.
