Topps’ Star Wars: Card Trader – Rogue One Update

To celebrate the release of the most anticipated film of 2016, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Topps is unveiling two never-before-seen digital cards for their popular digital trading card app, Star Wars: Card Trader. STAR WARS: SHADOW PORTRAITS and STAR WARS: SPOTLIGHT both release today.  This will be a part of 30 new Rogue One cards included in today’s Base 4 Expansion.

Topps’ epic Rogue One cards have been released in a content campaign leading up to the debut of the film giving Star Wars fans the privilege of experiencing early glimpses into Rogue One within the app since late September.  Fan-favorite digital cards have included STAR WARS: BORDERLESS STATIC, STAR WARS: DATA FILE and STAR WARS: STREET ART.  Since September 23, fans were lining up in Star Wars: Card Trader claiming spots in a digital line to be some of the first to get their hands on the eagerly awaited Rogue One: A Star Wars Story digital trading cards!  Nearly a million Rogue One card packs have been opened since then.

Daniel “Julius Marx” Pickett has been around toys his whole life. The first line he ever collected was Mego’s World’s Greatest Super Heroes line back in the 70s. He has been surrounded by collectables ever since. In 1999 he was confounded by a lack of information and news about some of his favorite toy lines he was collecting. Daniel was regularly featured on “Attack of the Show” on the G4 network as the primary contributor to their “Mint On Card” segment, and our front page has been linked to from USA Today’s “Pop Candy” Blog twice. Daniel’s content has also been featured on,, The Wall Street Journal, The Saturday Evening Post,,,, Boing-Boing,, Ain’t It Cool News, the Official Star Wars blog, Geekologie, G4, CNet and Toy Fare magazine, among many others. He has consulted on toy lines, books, documentaries and TV shows. But all of that really just sounds snooty and “tootin’ his own horn” – the long and short of it is that Daniel loves toys and he LOVES talking about them.
