Toy Fair News Roundup!
February 19, 2008

Here are a few news items that have trickled out of the big show while we wait to see what Mattel had to show at their "nerd herd" press event today: We knew that Barbie was getting all dressed up as your favorite DC Comics characters like Batgirl, Black Canary, and Poison Ivy, but did you also know that her little sister and her friend were getting in on the act? It looks like the line will start off with Tommy as Batman and Kelly as Catwoman. Also, Diamond Select no longer has the license to make Marvel resin items (statues, busts, etc.) but they still are excited about the future of the Marvel Select line of figures, which isn’t going anywhere.

WizKids are showing their new Crisis on Infinite Earths DC Heroclix line, with the big cneterpiece being a giant Anti-Monitor figure! Look for this behemoth to be equivalent in size to the Sentinel that was released last year. The Crisis line will also feature such DC stalwarts as the Metal Men, Hawk & Dove, Green Arrow, and the Karate Kid.

People have been asking about the pack-in figure included with the New Fortier DVD as a Best Buy exclusive. Well, we’re happy to tell you that it is a Hal Jordon unarticulated PVC figure designed and sculpted by DC Direct. It may come attached to a display base, too. And last, we got a first look at the Abomination MegaBloks figure from the upcoming Hulk movie.

Look for much higher res pictures of all of these items in our galleries later tonight!
