Daniel Pickett
Daniel “Julius Marx” Pickett has been around toys his whole life. The first line he ever collected was Mego’s World’s Greatest Super Heroes line back in the 70s. He has been surrounded by collectables ever since. In 1999 he was confounded by a lack of information and news about some of his favorite toy lines he was collecting. Since he couldn’t find the information he decided to pursue it himself thinking other people might also be interested in the same news. He started writing a weekly column on the toy industry and action figure for a toy news site and in a years time he tripled the sites daily traffic with his updates, reviews and product features. He built relationships with every major toy manufacturer and many sculptors, painters and mold makers. He grew his hobby into a world wide expertise that the industry has embraced. In 2004 he teamed up with his toy buddy Jason “ToyOtter” Geyer and they created their own website www.ActionFigureInsider.com. Daniel has been quoted in both industry and mass media press outlets. Over the years Daniel and AFi have been sought out as experts in the field. Daniel was regularly featured on “Attack of the Show” on the G4 network as the primary contributor to their “Mint On Card” segment, and our front page has been linked to from USA Today’s “Pop Candy” Blog twice. Daniel’s content has also been featured on MSNBC.com, Wired.com, Fark.com, Boing-Boing, Gizmodo.com, Ain’t It Cool News, the Official Star Wars blog, Geekologie, G4, CNet and Toy Fare magazine, among many others. He has consulted on toy lines, books, documentaries and TV shows. But all of that really just sounds snooty and “tootin’ his own horn” – the long and short of it is that Daniel loves toys and he LOVES talking about them.

They look pretty cheap and crappy…..Like something that even Dollar tree wouldn’t carry….Just sayin….I’m a hardcore KISS fan of 36 years (don’t follow the current KISS lineup however)….Would’nt buy these myself

  • Bosco says:

I agree with Rob. Those are the worst looking action figures I have ever seen… The quality of KISS figures has reached an all time low. I wouldn’t take them if they were free. I guess the people (Gene and Paul?) who signed off on these have no discretion whatsoever. I guess they just don’t care about their legacy. It reminds me of when they released the ‘Creatures’ figures with Dynasty outfits. Doesn’t KISS understand that hardcore fans recognize the distinct eras of the band? They don’t care.

  • Stan says:

I’ve been a fan of KISS since 1975. I’ve seen so much that has been marketed. From the original action figures to lunch boxes, transistor radios, pinball machines, even comic books. Now more Chinese made crap being shoved down our throats. KISS has reached the plateau where sometimes I wish they never existed.

They look like paper dolls. For 60 dollars no thanks

  • Larry says:

I’ve been a fan of KISS since 1976 and I have to say these looks like absolute crap!!!!! These look like they should be those bendable toys for toddlers. Gene needs to stop saying yes to everything put in front of him. This is a perfect example as to why I only collect KIIS merchandise from the 70s and 80s.

  • Gary McCormick says:

You guys all need to have a listen to Craig Gass. Stand-up comic who does amazing impersonations, especially Gene Simmons trying to hawk shit from Kiss.com. Check him out on YouTube. You’ll laugh your asses off !

  • Robert Sylvestre says:

They look fat like someone got drunk and didn’t no what they were doing.

  • John Light says:

Just more garbage. It’s all about money and has been since it’s only been about Gene and Paul. It’s the only time they truly rocked. Which is why 95% of what they sing at their “shows” is songs from the original four. no disrespect intended here for Tommy and especially Eric who is a very talented accomplished drummer with several big name bands. But they are not KISS. Gene and Paul have turned the “hottest band in the world” into a money making circus. Which suits Gene fine. They naively believe today’s fans are going to be the ones who carry on KISS and their legacy and forgot about us, the original KISS Army. It’s painful to watch. Hopefully Gene and Paul will get smart and realize it’s over. Put out a final tour with the orginal four (if physically possible) and blow everyone’s minds like they used too. They will be amazed how much money they will make. And it’s what we 40 year long fans deserve. Let’s hope egos can be out aside I I last time before it’s too late. Watching Gene and Paul stand around in front of big video screen is too painful to watch.

you guys are missing the point of these figures…they’re done in a retro style like the toys of the seventies, much like the original Star Wars figures. The guys that put these out are actually huge KISS fans and put out the retro lunchbox, shot glasses, light up umbrella among many other KISS related products.
