Welcome To Our New Sponsor: Hobby-Galaxy.com
June 7, 2013

Hobby-Galaxy.com is celebrating their GRAND OPENING this month and they are rolling out the red carpet for collectors by offering not only a discount but also a free gift!

Hobby Galaxy is a new on-line retailer that specializes in action figures, statues and model kits with an emphasis on strong customer service (that’s always a good thing and can’t be said by all on-line retailers).  They have a lot of great 1:6th scale and 1:4th scale figures in stock right now including the new NECA 18″ Lone Ranger figure.   New items are being added to their inventory every day so keep checking back to see all the new goodies and when you check them out, make sure you tell them AFi sent you!

Let’s hear the Hobby-Galaxy Mission Statement in their own words:

Here in Hobby-Galaxy.com we specialize in providing the most sought-after adult-oriented collectibles that define trends and distinguish you as a unique collector, ranging from vehicle models, to action figures, to high end statues and many more. All are provided at reasonable prices, with first rate service, and most importantly personal affection towards perfection.

We are a small start-up (for now), without some of the fancy bells & whistles you’ll find in other stores. In order to survive the competition, the strategy we come up is quite simple:

  • Focus our limited resource on the best products out there and entice customers with great offerings (price, selection and add-on values).

  • Provide outstanding customer service. We are small but by no means we should provide less-than-perfect service.

Their Grand Opening Sale only lasts until June 30th so head over new and get some great stuff at great prices!  And don’t forget to “like” the Hobby Galaxy Facebook page to get the discount on your order.

Daniel Pickett
Daniel “Julius Marx” Pickett has been around toys his whole life. The first line he ever collected was Mego’s World’s Greatest Super Heroes line back in the 70s. He has been surrounded by collectables ever since. In 1999 he was confounded by a lack of information and news about some of his favorite toy lines he was collecting. Since he couldn’t find the information he decided to pursue it himself thinking other people might also be interested in the same news. He started writing a weekly column on the toy industry and action figure for a toy news site and in a years time he tripled the sites daily traffic with his updates, reviews and product features. He built relationships with every major toy manufacturer and many sculptors, painters and mold makers. He grew his hobby into a world wide expertise that the industry has embraced. In 2004 he teamed up with his toy buddy Jason “ToyOtter” Geyer and they created their own website www.ActionFigureInsider.com. Daniel has been quoted in both industry and mass media press outlets. Over the years Daniel and AFi have been sought out as experts in the field. Daniel was regularly featured on “Attack of the Show” on the G4 network as the primary contributor to their “Mint On Card” segment, and our front page has been linked to from USA Today’s “Pop Candy” Blog twice. Daniel’s content has also been featured on MSNBC.com, Wired.com, Fark.com, Boing-Boing, Gizmodo.com, Ain’t It Cool News, the Official Star Wars blog, Geekologie, G4, CNet and Toy Fare magazine, among many others. He has consulted on toy lines, books, documentaries and TV shows. But all of that really just sounds snooty and “tootin’ his own horn” – the long and short of it is that Daniel loves toys and he LOVES talking about them.
